I also got conned into this offer which I applied for. It is a Chase Explorer MileagePlus card, purchased my ticket expecting the $250 which I did get instead I got 40000 miles credit and no cash back.
Took me many emails exchanges before getting someone to acknowledge the switcherou. Excepting it to be fixed.

I feel like being ripped off. Bought airfare on united website and applied for card witch promyssed me 35 K milles and $250 statement credit. Five days later I got card in mail giving me 40k and NO STATEMENT CREDIT. I never liked Visa for their customer service. BTW next day after I got card with no $250 this offer vanished from website. I feel like they changed rules during game.

It sounds like this card provides quite a lot of bonus miles, especially if you have multiple card holders. Between 2 people it probably wouldn’t be too hard to reach $25k in a year. There are a lot of different bills you can put on your card.
