Sorry that we didn’t specifically mention there is a $6,000 combined minimum balance requirement to avoid the monthly fee with The Citibank Account package.

We did generally indicate that account fees may apply in the article, but we should have been more specific to avoid any confusion.

The monthly fee is waived if you meet the combined balance. Otherwise the fee is:

$9.50 monthly service fee for Regular Checking ($12.50 in CA, NV, FL, IL, DC, VA and MD).

$12 monthly service fee for Interest Checking ($15 in CA, NV, FL, IL, DC, VA and MD).

The Citigold Account package also has combined monthly balance requirements to avoid the monthly fee of $25.

The Citigold combined balance requirement is $100,000 or $250,000 (including linked Citibank mortgage).

The fee is $25 if you don’t meet the combined balance.
