After I seen the advertisement for this offer, I decided to open a TCF checking account thinking I receive $50 free. However, I was very disappointed with this offcer because I was told by a rep that I had to purchase checks, and open a savings account to receive the $50 credit. TCF would deposit $25 in my savings account and $25 in my checking account, plus I would get charged for the checks I was forced purchase. Basically, the $50 I was suppose to be getting for opening a new account; not true! No where on the TCF website does it say anything about having to open a savings account or purchase checks. This is false advertisement! Definitely not a good deal!
