VirtualBank Customer Report:
We have received a report from one VirtualBank customer who was required to fax a copy of their driver’s license to VirtualBank in order to confirm their identity before opening the eMoney Market account.
The applicant was able to do this either by sending a traditional fax or sending a copy of their driver’s license as an attachment within an email.
Once the identification was confirmed, the account was then opened without any significant delays or further problems.
This additional verification step did not affect the $20 bonus offer tracking, and the $20 bonus offer was still applied to their account as promised once it was opened.
This may just be an isolated incident, and there is no way of knowing the reasoning for this extra verification requirement.
Other applicants have reported opening their accounts without this verification process, so it is most likely something that is not usually required.
The $20 bonus offer works either way for the free eMoney Market account, and VirtualBank handled the process efficiently, so this is still a great banking bonus offer.

The Virtual Bank referral program is currently unavailable.
Here’s the message that they posted in their online account interface within the Refer A Friend program section:
“We are making changes to our Refer a Friend program and are not taking referrals at this time. If you have referred friends in the past, we thank you very much.”
Hopefully, Virtual Bank will make their referral program better than ever, but it’s possible that it may not return either.
