I always find that etrade has the highest interest rates. Get an atm card and you are good to go.

Just wanted to follow up with this Etrade promotional offer.

I opened a Complete Savings account online 4 days ago, and my account is now open and my $25 bonus has already been applied.

There is a $1 minimum and $100 maximum transfer amount when you initially fund your new account with an ACH transfer from an unverified bank account, or you can also fund your account with a check by mail or a wire transfer.

I’ve experienced great service with Etrade so far, my account was opened quickly, and it’s great to start off with the $25 bonus in my account.

Definitely recommend this one for an easy $25, plus the high interest rate.

I had someone call me last night after opening an acct with E Trade requesting that I give a copy of DL and SS faxed to their branch. I have not had this happen before. Your response.

    Hello Vicki,

I first just want to make it clear that MaximizingMoney.com is not associated with Etrade in any official manner, so we can not give a response on their behalf or speak specifically on your situation.

However, Etrade and other banks do reserve the right to request additional information to verify your identity when opening an account online.

There may have been a mix-up on your application or a typo of some sort, or they may have seen some other information that alerted them to a possible problem, but for whatever reason, they chose to request additional information to verify your identity before opening your account.

Although it is an inconvenience, and some banks would send you a notice by mail instead of immediately calling you, it is basically designed to protect you in the end, as they are just trying to prevent an account from being opened in your name without proper verification.

Now, that’s assuming it was a legitimate phone call from Etrade.

I personally would be a little wary if I was being contacted by phone from someone to request that I fax a copy of my driver’s license and social security card without being able to properly verify their identity, but in most cases, banks may legitimately request additional information to verify your identity, and as long as you verify the fax number belongs to an Etrade branch, it should be legitimate.

I did not personally experience this problem when opening my Etrade account and I haven’t heard of this problem occurring otherwise, so I can’t say for certain how often this may occur or if other applicants have experienced similar problems.

Possibly some other readers may provide additional insight.

    Hope this helps, Max
