Air Canada offers several different rewards credit cards that can earn you up to 50,000 bonus Aeroplan miles with a variety of benefits.
The Air Canada rewards cards include 3 TD Aeroplan Visa Cards and 2 American Express AeroplanPlus Cards.
TD Aeroplan Visa Cards
The TD Aeroplan Visa Cards provide up to 25,000 welcome bonus miles after your first purchase on the card, and the bonus miles are eligible toward Distinction status.
Distinction status rewards top accumulating members with exclusive flight reward benefits, bonus mile offers, and other privileges.
These cards include the Infinite Card for 15,000 bonus miles, the Platinum Card for 10,000 bonus miles, and the Infinite Privilege Card for 25,000 bonus miles.
It’s important to note, however, that all of these cards have annual fees: $120 for Infinite; $89 for Platinum; and $399 for Infinite Privilege.
The Infinite card provides 1.5 miles per $1 spent on gas, grocery, and drugstore purchases as well as 1 mile per $1 spent everywhere else, plus you’ll receive 1 complimentary checked bag, priority check-in and boarding, and access to the Maple Leaf Lounge.
The Platinum card provides 1 mile per $1 spent on gas, grocery, and drugstore purchases, and only 1 mile for every $1.50 spent everywhere else.
The Infinite Privilege card provides 1.5 miles per $1 spent on gas, grocery, drugstore, and Air Canada purchases as well as 1.25 miles per $1 spent everywhere else, plus you’ll get a complimentary check bag, priority check-in and boarding, a 50% discount on companion tickets for eligible business class fares on Air Canada flights, and access to the Maple Leaf Lounge.
American Express AeroplanPlus Cards
The American Express AeroplanPlus Cards provide up to 50,000 bonus miles after qualifying purchases for a limited time.
These cards include the AeroplanPlus Platinum Card for 50,000 bonus miles and the AeroplanPlus Gold Card for 20,000 bonus miles.
To qualify for the 50,000 bonus miles with the AeroplanPlus Platinum Card, you must spend $1,000 in your first 3 months, and this offer is only available through September 30, 2014.
Plus, if you apply by August 31, 2014, 35,000 of your 50,000 bonus miles can be eligible toward reaching Distinction status in the Aeroplan program.
To qualify for the 20,000 bonus miles with the AeroplanPlus Gold Card, you must spend $500 in your first 3 months, and if you apply by August 31, 2014, all of your bonus miles will count toward Distinction status.
The Platinum card version has a $499 annual fee, while the Gold card version has a $120 annual fee that is waived for the first year.
Both of these American Express AeroplanPlus cards also provide a variety of frequent flyer travel benefits.
