The Apple OS X Mountain Lion Up-to-Date Program is offering a free upgrade for anyone who purchases a Mac computer on or after June 11, 2012.
If you’re worried about purchasing an Apple computer and being stuck with the old operating system, you’ll receive a free Mountain Lion upgrade as long as you meet the qualifications.
Who Can Qualify for Free Mountain Lion Upgrade
All customers who purchase a qualifying new Mac system from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller on or after June 11, 2012, will qualify for the free upgrade.
When To Request Free Upgrade
1. If you purchase a Mac computer with the old operating system after the Mountain Lion release date, then you must request your Up-to-Date upgrade within 30 days of purchasing your Mac computer.
2. If you purchase a Mac between June 11, 2012, and the date when Mountain Lion is available in the Mac App Store, then you will have 30 days from the OS X Mountain Lion release date to make a request.
Where To Get Free Upgrade
The OS X Mountain Lion Up-to-Date upgrade will be available at no additional charge from the Mac App Store.
When Mountain Lion becomes available sometime in July (supposedly), you can visit the OS X Mountain Lion Up-to-Date Program for details on how to request your copy of Mountain Lion.
Since there is a 30-day window, don’t forget to get the free upgrade for Mountain Lion if you purchase a new Mac computer.
Discounts on Mac Computers
It’s always good to check at Best Buy stores for any open box items or display models that may be on sale, as I just visited my local Best Buy, and they had a returned iMac 21.5″ model for $200 off the current price.
Apple computer prices for the older models also tend to drop a little as new models become available, if you don’t necessarily need the latest Mac computer.
Check out these Apple Reseller Discounts as well for low prices on Apple computers.
