Choice Privileges – 1,000 MR points = 1,000 Choice Privileges points.
Hilton HHonors – 1,000 MR points = 1,500 HHonors points.
Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts – 2,300 MR points = 100 Sirius Points (must be transferred in 2,300-point increments).
Starwood Preferred Guest – 1,000 MR points = 333 Starpoints.
Except where noted for Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, your Membership Rewards points must be transferred in 1,000-point increments.
It’s also important to note that after July 31, 2013, you will no longer be able to transfer Membership Rewards points into Jumeirah’s Sirius frequent guest accounts.
Hotel Loyalty Program Values for Redeeming Points
Before you transfer your Membership Rewards program points into a hotel loyalty program, it’s important to understand their value within that program in regards to how many free nights your points will be worth.
Best Western Rewards Program
Best Western Rewards points can be redeemed for free nights at over 4,000 Best Western, Best Western Plus, and Best Western Premier hotels in 80 countries around the world.
Free night vouchers start at 8,000 points and go as high as 36,000 points, depending on the point-redemption level of the hotel.
However, even though free nights start at 8,000 points, you may not be able to find a free night for only 8,000 points in your particular destination.
For instance, in the city of Chicago, there are 3 hotels that require 12,000 points per free night, 14 hotels that require 16,000 points, 7 hotels that require 20,000 points, 1 hotel that requires 28,000 points, 1 hotel that requires 32,000 points, and 1 hotel that requires 36,000 points per free night, but there are no hotels with free nights for only 8,000 points.
Additionally, rates can change based on occupancy, dates, and room type.
Your best bet to judge the value of your points before transferring them is to visit BestWestern.com, select the date and destination of your stay, select Best Western Rewards Points under Special Rates, and view the available hotels and redemption rates for each hotel.
That way you will know exactly how many free room nights you can get before transferring your Membership Rewards points to the Best Western Rewards program.
Choice Privileges Rewards Program
Choice Privileges points can be redeemed at a variety of hotels including Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cambria Suites, MainStay Suites, Suburbia, EconoLodge, Rodeway Inn, and Ascend Collection.
There are over 1,500 Choice hotels with free reward nights available for 8,000 points or less, all of which you can view at this Choice Privileges List.
Reward nights at Choice hotels worldwide are available for anywhere from 6,000 points to 35,000 points, and they can go as high as 75,000 points.
Again, point requirements can change throughout the year, so it’s best to check your specific hotel and dates to see the absolute value of your points before transferring them.
Hilton HHonors Rewards Program
Hilton HHonors points can be redeemed for free nights at Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, Hilton, DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton, Homewood Suites, Home2 Suites, and Hilton Grand Vacations.
You can book a free night for as few as 5,000 HHonors points or as high as 95,000 points for some of their luxury hotels.
Again, you’ll want to view the Hilton HHonors Booking Rates for your specific hotel to see where you can get the most value for your points.
One nice benefit to remember is that you get 1,500 HHonors points for each 1,000 Membership Rewards points transferred, so you do get a boost in your points value when you choose to transfer them into the Hilton HHonors rewards program.
Jumeirah Sirius Rewards Program
After July 31, 2013, you will no longer be able to transfer Membership Rewards points into Jumeirah’s Sirius frequent guest accounts, so this program will no longer be an option in the near future.
Jumeirah includes luxury hotels in Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East, so if you are planning on traveling to any of those areas, you may still have time to transfer your points to take advantage of this partnership.
You can read more here about Jumeirah Room Redemptions for additional details.
Starwood Preferred Guest Rewards Program
Starpoints can be redeemed for free hotel nights at Le Meridien, Loft, The Luxury Collection, Westin, Four Points, Element, Sheraton, St. Redis, and W Hotels.
Redemption rates start as low as 2,000 Starpoints for a free weekend night and 3,000 Starpoints during the week at a category 1 hotel and rates go as high as 35,000 points for category 7 hotels.
You can also get your 5th night free when you redeem 4 nights using your Starpoints at category 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 hotels.
Check out these Starpoints Free Night Options to review your specific destination for redemption opportunities.
Of course, it’s important to remember that 1,000 Membership Rewards points will only equal 333 Starpoints when you transfer them, but since the value of Starpoints are so high with free nights starting at only 2,000 Starpoints, you can still get good value for your points within the Starwood Preferred Guest program.
How To Get the Most Value from Your Points
Getting the most value from your points depends on many factors including your preferred hotels where you most like to stay, your travel destination, and the dates of your stay as well as the actual transfer values.
If you participate in one of these hotel loyalty programs on a regular basis, like you have one of their Hotel Rewards Cards for instance, then it probably makes more sense for you to transfer your Membership Rewards points to that particular program, because it’s where you are primarily focused for earning and redeeming your hotel points.
On the other hand, if you are just looking to get the most free nights on your next vacation, then you may want to compare all of the redemption rates at your particular destination, to see which hotel option provides you with the most value.
Take advantage of Membership Rewards and its hotel loyalty program partners to get free nights at participating hotels during your travels.
