Google Pay lets you make fast, easy payments, so that you can pay online and in-store during checkout safely and securely, or instantly send money to friends and businesses.

After you download the new Google Pay App via a referral link (referral code “see comments below for code”), you’ll get $1-$5 cash back after you make your first qualifying payment.

Plus, you can earn a $1-$10 bonus each when you refer your first 3 friends to Google Pay for up to $30 in total referral rewards.

On top of that, you can earn payment rewards and/or card-linked rewards when you use Google Pay for purchases from select retailers.

These offers are for the new Google Pay App (2020 version), which has been upgraded from the previous versions with new promotions.

Earn $1-$5 Bonus on First Payment with Google Pay

New Offer as of 12/22/2020: Google Pay just updated their referral program again to provide a $1-$5 bonus for referees and a $1-$10 bonus for referrers after the referee makes their first payment, and you can refer up to 3 people through March 2, 2021.

To get a $1-$5 bonus, download Google Pay via a referral link (please see below comments for working referral links and codes), and complete your first qualifying transaction using Google Pay by March 2, 2021.

Qualifying transactions include sending money to a friend you haven’t paid before OR making a contactless payment in-store (NFC-enabled Android devices only).

To be eligible, you must opt-in to Google Pay rewards, so make sure that you do that during registration.

After you receive the bonuses, tap the “Gift Box” in Google Pay to reveal and claim your cash back, as unclaimed gift boxes expire 45 days after receipt.

Any cash back that you earn will be added to your money in Google Pay to use or withdraw as you please.

Earn $1-$10 Referral Rewards with Google Pay

When you invite friends to Google Pay, they’ll get a $1-$5 reward with their first payment transaction, and you’ll get a $1-$10 bonus for each of your first 3 referrals.

To qualify and earn $1-$10 for yourself and $1-$5 for a friend, they must sign up with your referral code and make their first qualifying payment within the offer period.

A qualifying payment includes sending money to a friend they haven’t paid before OR making a contactless payment in-store (NFC-enabled Android devices only).

In order to be eligible, both you and your friend must opt-in to Google Pay rewards.

Additionally, your friends must be new to Google Pay and must not have accepted any previous referrals.

You can earn a maximum of 3 referral rewards with this Google Pay referral promotion for up to $30 in total rewards (if you earned 3 Google Pay referrals already, you may not be eligible to earn any more referrals with this offer).

Once you receive your referral rewards, you must tap the “Gift Box” in Google Pay to claim your cash back within 45 days after receipt to avoid expiration.

This Google Pay referral offer is available through March 2, 2021.

Earn Payment Rewards with Google Pay

When you opt-in to Payment Rewards and link a card, Google Pay will use your payment data to give you cash back, discounts, and more rewards on qualifying actions.

For example, you could get cash back on your daily coffee with a tap to pay offer or earn rebate rewards on a shopping trip at your favorite retailer.

These Google Pay offers are available for Visa, Mastercard, and American Express cards, but you must enroll and link your cards in order to participate.

Try Google Pay to get $1-$5 cash back after your first transaction, plus earn up to $30 in referral rewards for sharing Google Pay with friends.

    I got three $21 referrals yesterday and had four more referrals since then but have not been paid for any of them. I tried the $10 thing too and that didn’t do anything. What’s weird is I got a random extra $21 payment from Google early this morning before I had done the four additional referral’s so I’m not sure what that’s all about. I also clicked on the $21 cash back when you spend $50 or more at Target, went to Target today and spent $100, but when it say’s I received the $21 reward, it say’s that it will post to my Google Pay account in 30 day’s. It doesn’t say anything about that in the small print.

    It seems like they stopped doing the referral bonuses.

      No, it’s only a single $21 bonus after your first transaction. Then, you can earn up to 10 $21 referral rewards. On top of that, you may also receive a $1-$5 bonus on each of your second and third transactions, but I’m not positive of how that is working exactly with the new promotion.

    Have you been able to locate the terms that define how $1-$5 cash back per each payment is calculated? No doubt on transaction amount but what $ ranges correspond to $5 cash back vs only $1 cash back? I’ve scoured the 5 to 6 multipage related terms sheets linked throughout the signup process and none of them explain how the $1-$5 bonus is calculated/determined, hoping you have more contacts that provided these details.

      Hello Stan,

      I do not have any official information on how the cash back rewards are calculated.

      However, I believe it may simply be random, as I sent somebody only $1, but I received a $4.50 bonus on that transaction.

      So I don’t necessarily think that if you send more money, you’ll receive a higher bonus, or that there are tiers of some sort.

      The referral bonuses seem to be random as well.

      I tried to find that information in the app and terms prior to posting about it, but I couldn’t find anything.

    I haven’t received my 5 dollar credit for downloading the app and referral link. My number won’t save in the new app after I enter my 6 digit code..
