Free Summer Reading Programs for Kids in 2014

A variety of summer reading programs are available that offer free prizes and rewards for kids who read books this summer.

2014 Summer Reading Programs

1. Showcase Cinemas Bookworm Wednesdays

Showcase Cinemas offers a free kids movie every Wednesday morning. Every Wednesday morning, just bring a book report to the select Bookworm Wednesdays movie and that’s the price of admission. More details on specific dates to come.

2. Pottery Barn Summer Reading Challenge

The PBK Summer Reading Challenge runs from May 15th through July 17th, and your kids can read all of the award-winning books on their recommended lists to qualify for a free book at participating retail stores.

3. Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program

The B&N Summer Reading Program offers kids a free book when they bring a completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between May 20th and September 2, 2014.

4. TD Bank Summer Reading Program

The TD Bank Summer Reading Program offers kids a $10 bonus into a savings account when they read qualifying books. The 2014 Summer Reading Program is now open to kids in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade and will run from June 1st through August 31, 2014. Students can begin to pick up the 2014 Summer Reading logs at your local TD Bank store today.

5. Half Price Books Feed Your Brain

The Half Price Books Feed Your Brain summer reading program offers kids HPB Back-To-School Bucks for reading in June and July.

6. Sylvan’s Book Adventure

The Sylvan’s Book Adventure reading program offers kids free prizes for reading all year long.

Chuck E. Cheese offers kids free tokens for completing educational activities such as reading all year long.

8. H-E-Buddy Reading Program
