How I Redeem Rebates with Ibotta

The way that you redeem a rebate will depend on the particular grocery store or other type of merchant where you are making the purchase.

I use Ibotta regularly at Pick n’ Save, Piggly Wiggly, and Festival Foods for my grocery shopping.

To get started, you must go into the Ibotta App, visit “Find Offers”, go to “Grocery” (for grocery stores), and select your store from the list.

Once you find your store, you need to go through the process of adding the cash back offers that you want to redeem to your list of “My Offers,” which makes them available to redeem.

Adding rebate offers to your shopping list usually requires answering a simple question, viewing an advertisement, or possibly watching a short video.

Once you add all the offers that you want to redeem to your “My Offers” section, you go to your store of choice and purchase the items.

After you buy the items, you will then verify your purchases to redeem the rebates.

However, the verification process is done in different ways at different stores.

At both Pick n’ Save and Piggly Wiggly (Midwest), you simply enter your store Rewards Card number into the Ibotta App itself, and then when you check out and provide the cashier with your Rewards Card number, your transaction data and the items you purchased are all automatically registered with Ibotta, and Ibotta will credit you for your purchases within about 2 days or so.

At Festival Foods, you simply scan the barcode on your receipt to send an image of the barcode to Ibotta, which they use to verify your purchases, and you then receive your credit for the purchases within 2 days.

With Festival Foods, they also have a simple process where you indicate which items are on the actual receipt when you scan the barcode.

At some stores, you may be required to take a picture of your entire receipt in order to verify the rebates.

If you are redeeming their online rebates, it usually just requires that you shop through the merchant link directly from within the Ibotta App.

Overall, it’s relatively easy to redeem the rebates and only takes me a couple of seconds to quickly scan the barcode after I shop at Festival Foods.

Obviously, it takes no time at all when I shop at Piggly Wiggly or Pick n’ Save, since it’s automatically done when I provide the cashier with my Rewards Card number for either store.

The most time consuming part for me is really going through the rebates before I shop and adding them to the “My Offers” section, which basically means that they are available for you to redeem.

This doesn’t take too much time overall, but for some of the bigger rebates, like beers and wines, they may make you watch a 10-15 second video.

For me, this can be a slightly annoying process, just because I don’t want to watch 10 separate 15 second videos.

It’s better to do that part at home before you go shopping when you’re relaxing on your couch watching TV or something.

You definitely don’t want to do it in the grocery store parking lot with a bad connection on your smartphone.

I usually do it when I’m working out my shopping list just before I go to the grocery store.
