Applying for My American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card Bonus

I could no longer resist temptation and had to apply for the current American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card bonus before it is gone.

I’ve been waiting for a lucrative bonus on this card for a while, and the current 50,000 AMEX Premier Rewards Gold Card Promotion proved to be too much to abstain from, so I decided to go ahead and apply before this special offer disappears.

Sure, there could be a 100,000 bonus point offer later this year if we’re lucky, but that offer would probably have a higher purchase requirement than only $1,000 like the current 50,000 points promotion, so it may not be as easy to achieve.

I submitted an online application on March 5th, which only took a few minutes, as they really only require your basic personal information.

American Express indicated that my application was under review, and that I would receive a notification within 1 to 2 weeks.

However, I received an approval email about 5 minutes later, so I was actually approved almost instantly.

My card was delivered 2 days later by UPS on March 7th, and I just activated it today.

One nice benefit of getting the Premier Rewards Gold Card is that my Membership Rewards Express points that I had previously earned with my Blue Card were immediately transferred into regular Membership Rewards points with more flexible redemption options.

Once I get my 50,000 bonus points, I plan on redeeming my newly combined points toward some vacation time this summer through one of their various travel partners.

I plan on making my first card purchase via this Amazon Gift Card $100 Bonus Promotion, where you get $100 in bonus Kindle Accessories when you purchase a $500 Amazon Gift Card.

The $500 purchase will get me halfway toward meeting the $1,000 minimum spending requirement to earn my 50,000 bonus points, and I can always use the $500 credit toward purchases at Amazon.com in the future.

Since I don’t own a Kindle myself, I’ll then purchase the $100 worth of Kindle Accessories and try to sell them on eBay or Amazon.com for a profit.

There are plenty of ways to Meet Credit Card Spending Requirements in order to earn bonus rewards, so it should be pretty easy to spend the entire $1,000 on my new card.

This is the first credit card I’ve applied for since I took advantage of the NFL Extra Points Card $400 Bonus Offer, which is actually still available as well.

The only difference with my new Premier Rewards Gold Card is that there is an annual fee after the first fee-free year, so I’ll have to figure out what I want to do in regards to paying the annual fee when that time comes.

In the meantime, I’m looking forward to maximizing my rewards with my new Gold card.
