Citi K2C Kindergarten To College Savings Program $300 Bonus in San Francisco

June 11, 2015 | 1 Comment

The Citi K2C program (Kindergarten To College) offers parents of kids who are entering the San Francisco Unified School District up to $300 in bonus cash toward college savings.

If your child goes to school within the SFUSD, then make sure you participate in the Citi K2C program to earn up to $300 in bonus incentives when you contribute toward your child’s college savings.

How Kindergarten To College Works

You do not need to take any steps to open your child’s account.

When your child starts kindergarten (or higher grades depending on the school), the City and County of San Francisco automatically sets up a college savings account for your child with its first deposit, a $50 bonus from the K2C program.

Shortly after school begins, you will get a welcome kit with your account information.

Once you receive your K2C account card, your account is active and you can start saving.

You can contribute up to $2,500 per school year by mail, online, by direct deposit, or in person at a Citibank branch.

There are no hidden fees or charges for this account.

Your K2C account is a free service by the City and County of San Francisco, and there is no obligation to contribute to the account.

Contributions to the account are bound to the purpose of being used for college, and funds are distributed only when a child enters post-secondary education.

If your child does not attend college, then the funds contributed by you and your family will be returned when your child turns 25, except in the case of emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.

Citi K2C up to $300 in Bonus Incentives

You’ll receive up to $300 in bonus funds in total through the K2C program.

$50 Initial Deposit: When your account is opened, an initial $50 deposit will be made on your behalf.

$100 Match: For every $1 that you save, the K2C program will match you for up to the first $100 that you save.

$100 Save Steady Incentive: If you save a minimum of $10 every month for 6 consecutive months, you will earn the $100 Save Steady incentive bonus.

$50 National School Lunch Enrollment: If your child qualifies for the National School Lunch program for free or reduced lunch, you will receive an additional $50 bonus.

Visit the Citi K2C Website for further details about this program.
