    The article doesn’t mention you can’t touch your deposit of $250.00 for 30 days. The article also doesn’t mention that ING Direct also has a checking account Electric Orange that doesn’t have overdraft fees but instead an Overdraft Line of Credit which charges a competitive interest rate.

    Here are the terms of the offer as indicated by ING Direct.

    “Rules of the game: Bonuses are only paid for accounts that are opened with an initial deposit of at least $250. Initial deposit does not include bonus. The $25 bonus is available only for new accounts with a new Customer as primary owner. Only one bonus will be provided per household. Bonus starts earning interest upon account opening, but is unavailable for withdrawal for 30 days.”

    Although the $25 bonus is unavailable for 30 days, the $250 is only required for the initial deposit.

    We apologize for not mentioning the Electric Orange line of credit if that information was of interest to you.

    The reason the Electric Orange checking account Overdraft Line of Credit was not mentioned is because it’s beyond the scope of the $25 ING Direct savings account bonus offer that this article covers.

    This article was not designed as a full review of ING Direct products and services, just as a review of the $25 bonus for the Orange Savings account and earning referral fees thereafter.
