Chase is again offering the $125 banking bonus for their Chase Free Checking Account with Direct Deposit, and it’s now available when you apply online, valid until January 15, 2009.

Open a new Chase Free Checking Account with Direct Deposit with a minimum opening deposit of $100, either by applying online or by printing out the coupon and applying at a Chase bank location near you, and you’ll receive the $125 banking bonus, but you must have a unique promotional code in order to receive your $125 bonus.

    I was declined because there is not a local branch in my area. Even though they say “apply online”, it’s not available to anyone. Chase must have a local branch. I feel like cheated. :(

    Unfortunately, there is no indication on the promotional page that you must live near a local Chase branch to apply online, so we were unable to provide you with this information.

    Me and my GF also applied online (from CA). There was no indication that we were denied. We just never got any account info. After talking to the Presidents office, they promised to take care of it (setting up the accounts). After a few weeks, I was suddenly told by the President’s office that the accounts were denied. They refused to give us any reason why….

    Really poor policy from Chase! They should be ashamed not disclosing the locale limitation to the customers. Just causes a lot of extra work and frustration for everyone..
