Been a member for over a decade and they told one of my (empty) savings accounts was compromised. Someone called one of their offshore idiots and was able to convince them to add themselves as a joint account holder.
The fraud team called me and when I told them I didn’t recognize the name they locked all my accounts, causing multiple bills to bounce costing me $$$ in fees.
After about 3 weeks they created new accounts (even downgrading my performance savings to a low APR acct without telling me — aren’t they getting sued for this exact behavior?). Anyway I was finally able to get my funds out. I didn’t get any reimbursement or even an apology. Careful holding any short term funds at Capital One, especially if you pay bills from there. I won’t use any of their products or services again.
