Had to call customer service then wait until today but it actually was deposited.

I finally got my $50, I also have enjoyed my card! Thank you Credit karma.
Laura says
Found this page after wondering where my $50 was. I also missed the DD clause. HOWEVER, I got a new job that started on 4/26, and will receive my first paycheck on the 15th. I like to split my money between accounts anyway, and my chase checking was closed, so I set up small direct deposit into my CK account just to see if in fact I would get my check early. So I did, and hopefully it will qualify me for the $50 bonus.

Slipped the paycheck requirement clause right past a lot of people…pretty shady stuff in my opinion…I’ll be changing my banking info back to my actual bank with the IRS tomorrow..and won’t be using turbo tax in the future..
max says
Didnt get the bonus. People who got the bonus, do you mind sharing what you did?
Ka says
Is there any amount requirement to make the Direct deposit to be “qualified”?
Stephanie Oxendine says
This is false advertising they didn’t say anything about a paycheck being deposited I got a screenshot of it bad for business
Charles says
Can you post the screenshot of this for everyone to atleast see the original terms?
Ray says
I, too, didn’t see any indication of adding a direct deposit is a must. Very sneaky, very disappointed. I don’t have enough time to add one now.
Denisha Kirk says
It’s May 10th (as of this comment) and there’s still time (have until June 10th for ddeposit).
I emailed Credit Karma and received this back today:
After reviewing this offer, it appears a qualifying direct deposit must be set up on your Credit Karma Spend account by 06/10. Qualifying direct deposits include forms of monthly income such as salary, pension and government benefits. If this has been set up, the $50.00 will be deposited into your Credit Karma Spend account on 06/11.
I have attached the terms and conditions for the $50.00 TurboTax offer below.

Hi Denisha,
Can you post the screenshot. I am in the same boat as you. The Credit Karma customer support is asking for a screenshot of the offer.

Waiting to see if I do get the offer that Turbo tax promoted when I filed my taxes.long wait this year for refund.not sure when Turbo tax remits the 50.00 dollar offer.
Jennifer says
I too, feel the same. There was absolutely no indication of needing to have a paycheck direct deposit along with tax refund, this is false advertising. Frustrating and very irritated at the misleading under this pretense.
Jessica says
I also feel mislead as there was no indication of needing a direct deposit. I contacted credit karma about the promo and they asked for a screen shot which I did not take.
Paul Stowe says
AGREED! Very shady practices.
Cary says
This Paycheck requirement was not advertised. Very sneaky
Risa Yamamoto says
I received refunds thru turbo tax cuz they promised $50 bonus cash when I applied carma card; however, today is 5/12 and I was supposed to receive $50 by 5/10, I never received anything. False advertising!!

Hello,
I told myself before choosing the option to receive the bonus of $50 to read some articles and I came across this one. So towards the bottom before clicking continue after selecting the “New! Recommended Option for CKM” it states the info about how to obtain the $50 bonus (They extended applying to May 17,2021) maybe they just added this on because I see a lot of people didn’t see this or just missed the information. Either way it can be very confusing I would call for more details. I will add what it states on TurboTax just in case someone comes across this, I hope it helps.

In no way, shape, or form do they express the need to also direct deposit a paycheck to receive the $50 when the offer pops up on Turbo Tax. False advertisement and poor overall service. They have wasted my time, and I will be closing my account as there are minimal to no upsides for keeping such an account.
Gabriella says
I feel the same. There was no indication of needing to have a direct deposit so this is false advertising. Frustrating would be an understatement.
Brendan says
Agreed. I thought I just got 50 extra bucks until I read this.
A mak says
I filed my taxes with turbo tax and had my deposit transferred to a new credit karma spend account for the $50 bonus. When I signed up for the credit karma spend account it did not say that I needed to have direct deposit paycheck as well as tax refund send to credit karma account.
I am not currently employed and do not have a paycheck. I would not have opened up this account had I known. VERY DISAPPOINTED
Robyn says
I didn’t know about the paycheck either or I also would have reconsidered as I’m unemployed as well. The lack of clarity is disappointing but there’s always a catch somewhere..
