How To Qualify for the Chase Savings Account Bonus
1. Visit the Chase Savings Page to apply for your Chase Savings account online.
2. Make sure to enter the unique promotional code in the Coupon Code field within the Getting Started section of the online application, which is where you select “I would like to start a new application.”
3. Open your Chase Savings account with a minimum opening deposit of $10,000 or more in new money and maintain your $10,000 balance for 90 days.
4. Chase will deposit $150 into your new Chase Savings account within 10 business days after the 90-day period.
$150 Chase Savings Account Bonus Details
This offer is not available on Chase Savings accounts with any owner under 18 years of age.
A $10,000 minimum opening deposit of new money (money not currently held by Chase or its affiliates) is required to qualify for the offer, and the balance must be maintained for 90 days from the date of deposit to qualify for the offer.
The opening deposit of $10,000 or more must be made within 10 days of account opening.
The cash bonus will be automatically deposited into your new account within 10 business days of the 90-day period, but the bonus is not considered part of the minimum opening deposit.

I tried to use coupon code 4198260331972003 on the web, and got a response saying that code couldn’t be used online. I went to a Chase branch yesterday, and was told the code had already been used.

The terms and conditions for all of the coupon codes that I have seen have not indicated that it is required to have the $10,000 deposit remain in the account for 90 days or any specific time period.
There is no specific mention of the $10,000 deposit needing to remain in the account for any specific time period.
It seems like having that requirement would make sense for Chase, however, as you could otherwise just deposit the $10,000 for 10 days until you receive your bonus, and then withdraw all but $300 to avoid the monthly fee until after 6 months when you can close your account without penalty.
Chase does not indicate this requirement in the fine print for promo codes that I have seen, but it may be worth inquiring about this issue with Chase Bank directly when opening your account.

Please note that the new Chase Savings Account coupon codes that we’re now seeing are for a $150 bonus instead of the previous $100 bonus.
Also, the requirements are now indicating that you must maintain the $10,000 opening deposit balance for 90 days in order to qualify for the bonus, whereas the terms previously only indicated that you had to make the $10,000 opening deposit requirement to receive the cash reward, but not that you had to maintain the balance for 90 days in order to qualify.
These offers and terms may vary, so make sure that you read the terms carefully if you receive a code, and we will also try to specify the terms for any codes that we post here.

As far as I know and from what I’ve read on the Chase flyers that I’ve received in the mail, you can indeed open up the savings account online and qualify for the bonus.
We do provide some instructions for how to open your account online in the above article.
There is a place to enter the coupon code online when opening your Chase savings account.
Plus, you have 10 days from account opening to deposit the entire $10,000, so opening an account online shouldn’t cause any issues with qualifying for the bonus.
However, you have to read the specific details for each individual coupon code, as these terms may vary between different flyers.

New money refers to money not currently held by Chase or its affiliates.
You can not transfer money from a Chase checking account to a Chase savings account in order to qualify for the bonus.
You must deposit funds from a source outside of Chase Bank or its affiliates.

I have a $200 certificate for someone who wants to open a Chase Total Checking account. You cannot have an existing Chase checking acct, have closed an acct within 90 days, or have had an acct closed with a negative balance. You need to deposit $100 and keep the acct open at least 6 months. You pay monthly service fees unless you have monthly direct deposits of at least $500, keep a daily balance of $1500, or keep a daily balance of $5000 in various Chase qualifying accounts. The coupon expires on 2/28/2013.
