Huntington Bank is offering a $150 cash bonus when you open an Asterisk-Free Checking account with a direct deposit, valid for accounts opened through July 15, 2015.

I just found this new Huntington Bank checking account promotion and am thrilled to be the first to introduce it to my readers, since these Huntington offers don’t come around too often, and they usually require a special coupon code that you can only receive by mail.

This personal checking bonus offer is available for new Huntington checking accounts in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

How To Earn $150 Huntington Checking Bonus

1. Just open a new personal checking account online by July 15, 2015.

2. Set up an automatic direct deposit of at least $500 (a single deposit amount) within the first 60 days.

Complete these steps and the $150 bonus will be deposited into your new account within 90 days of account opening.

Check out this Huntington Bank $150 Checking Bonus that already has the coupon code SLSM-I39593-9478CSW imbedded in the link, so it DOES NOT require any type of coupon code that you received in the mail in order to qualify.

Please note that you must apply through the above link in order to qualify for the bonus, as the coupon code is imbedded in the above link when you apply online.

Asterisk-Free Checking has no monthly checking maintenance fee, no minimum balance fee, and no monthly debit card fee.

You’ll receive a Form 1099-INT from Huntington Bank for your bonus.

Your new account must remain open for a minimum of 6 months, or an Early Account Closing Fee will apply.

Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit such as your paycheck or pension from your employer or government benefits (such as Social Security) from the Government.

Each customer is limited to 1 new account bonus per calendar year.

Existing checking account customers are not eligible, including those with checking accounts closed within the last 6 months.

This offer is only available to accounts opened online.

I saw this website and applied online. It said I had to go to a Huntington Bank to finish the application, which I did yesterday. I went to the branch in Fraser, Mi on 15 Mile and Garfield. Steve was very helpful, but when I asked about the $150.00 promotion, he didn’t know anything about it. If you are going to advertise something, your managers should be aware of it. Am I still able to get it???

    Hello Pamela,

This offer is only available to accounts opened online, so I’m not sure if you will still be able to qualify for the offer.

However, since you started the application online, I’m assuming it indicated you had to visit a branch in order to verify your identity or some other type of information.

If that’s the case, then it could be argued that you did open the account online.

I would contact their customer service directly and explain your situation to see if they will credit your account with the bonus if you meet the qualifications.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Just wanted to note that this offer has been extended through June 30th, plus they have removed the 20 debit card purchases requirement as well as increased the direct deposit requirement to $500 (previously $200).

      HEY MAX,

THANK YOU!!!! for having a awesome website. I have used it several times & made most of my money off of Chase Bank. Now my Banker at Chase bank & I are darn near friends. I think I have opened and closed my accounts there 4 times now just to get the Bonus. I have only done Huntington 1 time & Key Bank 2 or 3 times.

      Just a TIP:
When you are required to have a min. Direct Deposit be made to the account. I have used my other accounts to deposit the money EFT . and it did count as a direct deposit.
You must initiate it from the other account. Not through your Huntington account.

I have done this from my PayPal, Fidelity & Chase bank. It has counted as a Direct deposit.

Maybe this is something you can pass on to others that are having problems getting a $500 direct deposit made. It is something they can try.

      Thank you!!!

They are saying it has always been 500 one time deposit, but I I know for fact they changed it after I signed up how do I prove this?

    • says

      Hello Andrea,

Yes, the direct deposit requirement was previously only $200, not $500.

However, I’m not sure how you would be able to prove this, unless you had a copy of the prior terms, which I do not have.

Sorry I can’t be of further assistance and good luck. Max

This is a nice promo but it’s unfair to the workers who are required a quota of new accounts. Im trying to help a friend out who works at Huntington, plus get a good deal on some banking but I have to give credit to online sales rather then my local bank location. To get the $150.

  7. dave says

Is this a form of discrimination by requiring a one time $500.00 deposit? It discriminates against many people who get paid weekly!

  8. Tuan says

I took the bait for the $150 and opened Huntington account in April 2014, completed all required stipulations, for several months I wonder why $150 wasn’t deposited into my account and today (from another banker at that same branch) I found out that the banker that helped me open the account didn’t apply the $150 authorization code into my account; therefore it never exist. He told me that there isn’t much he can do about since it’s long pass the expiration date. I left my # to call after he contact the Huntington– I have a feeling that I will not get the $150 even though it’s their mistake. I will likely to close the account of it.

I just call to the Bank they are stated they are not working with any website company for promotions as a Third party. So, this is spam or fishing?
Who can confirm your activities that legal on this website?

  10. Never Again says

As a former customer, I can assure you that no amount of money will compensate you for becoming their customer.

I also guarantee that you will not be able to fix anything that they foul up.

In the end, your only choice will be to go elsewhere.

    Chase runs their business similarly.

There’s a reason why these companies have to give away money to get customers. Buyer Beware:)
