For the referee (new customer) to earn the $250 bonus, you must be a new Sterling customer, open an Eagle Checking Account with a minimum opening balance of $500, maintain the $500 minimum balance to avoid fees, enroll in online banking, and have a minimum of 2 reoccurring $500 direct deposits within 120 calendar days of account opening.

The referrer (existing customer) will earn the $50 bonus when the referee opens an Eagle Checking Account with a minimum opening balance of $500 that remains open for 120 days.

Once the conditions are met, the bonuses will be credited into both customers’ accounts no later than 130 days from the new account opening date, as long as the accounts remain open, active, and in good standing.

However, if the checking account is closed by the customer or Sterling Bank within 6 months after account opening, Sterling Bank does reserve the right to deduct the bonus amount from that account at closing.

2. You must be a new Sterling customer and open a qualifying Sterling Eagle Checking Account.

3. Have a $500 minimum opening deposit and maintain a $500 balance to avoid fees.

4. Receive a minimum of 2 reoccurring $500 direct deposits made to your new Eagle Checking Account within 120 calendar days of account opening.

5. Direct deposits must be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension, or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person-to-person payments (such as Zelle), transfers from one account to another, mobile deposits, and deposits made at a branch or ATM do not qualify as a direct deposit. It cannot be automatic transfers from a Sterling savings, money market or other deposit accounts.

6. You must also enroll in Sterling online banking to qualify.

7. The $250 bonus will be credited to your new personal checking account within 130 days from the new account opening date, as long as your account remains open, active, and in good standing.

8. If the checking account is closed by you or Sterling Bank within 6 months after account opening, Sterling Bank does reserve the right to deduct the bonus amount from that account at closing.

You must download, print and complete the referral form with your name, email, last 4 digits of your account number, and phone number along with information about your friend.

Your friends and family must submit the completed referral form at the time of account opening.
