Navy Federal Credit Union $50 Checking Bonus for Military Appreciation Month

Navy Federal Credit Union is offering a special $50 Active Duty Checking account bonus and other promotions for Military Appreciation Month 2015.

Members can get 3.5% APY Certificate of Deposits, a $50 new checking account bonus, a $300 auto loan refinancing promotion, and 2X the credit card rewards.

Navy Federal Credit Union serves Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, military Delayed Enlistment Program (DEP) Personnel, DoD civilians, and their families.

Active Duty Checking $50 Bonus

You must open an Active Duty Checking account, which requires a qualifying Military Direct Deposit, to get a $50 bonus.

This offer is only valid for new Active Duty Checking accounts, as conversions are not eligible.

To be eligible for this account, you must be Active Duty, retired, or reserve military, and you must have a qualifying Military Direct Deposit of Net Pay of at least $300 that posts to your Active Duty Checking account within 90 days.

If the Direct Deposit stops for more than 90 days, your account will convert to an EveryDay Checking account.

There is no minimum balance to open and maintain your Active Duty Checking account, or to obtain the bonus.

The bonus will be deposited within 30 days of account opening.

If you open the account in person, this program must be mentioned at the time of opening for your account to be credited.

This offer excludes members who join via Parris Island or Great Lakes.

3.5% APY Military Appreciation Certificate

You can also sign up for a 3.5% APY Military Appreciation Certificate.

They are offering a 15-month term CD with a $50 minimum balance and a $7,500 maximum balance.

There is a limit of 1 CD per member at this special rate.

Certificate owners age 18 and older must have Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) Direct Deposit of Net Pay or DFAS Allotment within 90 days of the certificate issue date.

If these requirements are not met, your Military Appreciation Certificate dividend rate will be reduced to the prevailing dividend rate of the standard EasyStart Certificate for the remainder of the certificate’s term.

Additional deposits can be made at any time.

At maturity, the Military Appreciation Certificate will mature into a $100 minimum balance, standard EasyStart Certificate.

Auto Loan Refinance $300 Promotion

Bring your auto loan to Navy Federal for a low rate and a $300 cash bonus.

This offer cannot be combined with other consumer loan offers.

This offer is not valid on existing Navy Federal Credit Union loans.

To qualify, refinance applications must be submitted between May 1st and May 31, 2015.

The refinanced loan must be in good standing after 60 days of origination in order to receive the bonus offer.

The $300 will be credited to the primary applicant’s savings account between 61 and 65 days of the loan origination date.

If the refinanced loan is canceled or paid off in the first 60 days of origination, the $300 offer will become invalid.

2X Credit Card Rewards

Shop at commissaries or exchanges during the month of May and get double the cash back or double the points when you use your Navy Federal rewards credit card.

The purchase must be conducted at a commissary or exchange.

Third-party merchants inside these locations (such as travel agents or restaurants) may not qualify.

To be eligible for 2x the regular cash back or reward bonus points rates, purchases at commissaries or exchanges must be made with your Navy Federal rewards credit card between May 1, 2015, and May 31, 2015.

You must allow up to 8 weeks after your purchase transactions for bonus points to post to your rewards balance.

Platinum credit cards are not eligible for this offer.

    You have to get referred though to become a member? Hard for anyone of us to take advantage of those deal.

      You don’t necessarily have to be referred to become a member of the credit union.

      Anybody who meets the membership criteria can join.
