I just wanted to follow up and hopefully clarify the list of states where this BB&T bonus is valid.
This list of valid states in our article (AL, DC, FL, GA, IN, KY, MD, NC, SC, TN, VA, or WV) was originally taken from the “Locations” page on the BB&T website, where those are the only states listed for having BB&T branches.
However, in the most recent Corporate Profile page, they list the following information:
Its bank subsidiaries operate more than 1,800 financial centers in the Carolinas, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia, Tennessee, Maryland, Florida, Alabama, Indiana, Texas and Washington, D.C.
So for whatever reason, Texas is not listed within the “states” in the pull-down menu on their location page.
However, as you mentioned and is now being shown on their Corporate Profile page, BB&T does indeed have branches in Texas, so the bonus offer would also apply to Texas.
We apologize for any confusion this may have caused, as we were basing our information off the locations page and didn’t realize they also had branches in Texas, as Texas is excluded from the pull-down menu state list on the locations page for some reason.
As Jill mentioned, they just bought out a bank in Texas recently, so they are probably just slow in updating their list of states on the bank locations page.
Hope this clarifies things. So if you live in Texas, you should also qualify for this bonus offer.

No problems, just paid $10 per month on 3 different accounts as required and the bonus was processed automatically
